Brandi Eldridge

Hello, my name is Brandi Eldridge and I am a freshman at Ohio State studying nutrition science. I aspire to become a sports medicine physician. I enjoy football, shopping, and Grey's anatomy.

After completing my Gallup StrenghtsQuest, I found positivity to be most important to me. Having positivity allows me to have a good outlook on all aspects of college, whether it is academic or personal. If I perform poorly on a test, or have a disagreement with a friend, positivity gives me peace of mind and validation that everything will be alright. I also believe that my other strengths can benefit from positivity. For instance, learner was also one of my top five strengths. With a positive attitude, I can tackle new information with excitement and apply it to my life both now and in the future.

The time management assignment was very beneficial to me. I had never recorded my day to day activities and the amount of time I spent on each thing. It gave me the reality of my lifestyle and revealed to me that I may not always devote as much time to my studies as I should. Time management skills will benefit me not only now, but in the future as I enter into a challenging career path. I will have to find balance between work and personal, and now is a great time to prepare for what I will have to do for years to come.

Lessons from a first-year buckeye allowed me to reflect over my first semester. It almost felt unreal as I gave advice to students coming in after me. I have identified resources available to me on campus and have learned to utilize them at all possible moments. My first semester of college has flown by, but I have learned many lessons since. I have grown in my academics and learned hoards of new information, but also in my personal life. I have matured into an independent adult, and Ohio State has played a major role in that process.
