Brandi Richard is a mother, innovator, entrepreneur, author, and advocate. Throughout her life stages, she used adversity to grow and develop into a new iteration of herself. She transitioned from preppy student leader, to young military wife, to hip vegan tree-hugger. From there she grew into a hard-working single mom with vision and purpose for herself and her daughter, showing no fear of the struggle she was facing. Through every challenge she continued to grow, becoming a hard-working entrepreneur with an established career and noted leader, with a brilliant daughter.

Early in her professional career Brandi embraced Communications as an intern at Temerlin McClain Advertising Agency. While there she discovered her passion for cool fonts and developing unique marketing ideas. Her first professional innovation was for an agency client’s annual report which garnered Brandi an award from the client. Her innovative ideas led her to create her own companies and concepts including: Awakened Concepts, an idea generation firm; Inspired Designs apparel, Sacred Aroma all natural bath and body products, Green Grass Generation, On Board DFW, The Young Professional Advocate, NULYP NOW, WeDevelopMe, STEMWorks, NULYP JoinWeek #WeGotNow, LEADYP, and BR Communications.

Brandi has been recognized by many organizations for her pioneering spirit and positive results. She was recognized for her charitable and professional contributions in Mass Communications and Media during the 2013 Black Woman in Media Conference. She is regularly requested to appear in print, radio and television as a contributor or special guest. She commands the attention of the audience with her personal story, reminding others they are able to change their trajectory as soon as they decide to do so.

For almost thirteen years, Brandi has shared her ideas, communications expertise, and project management with the Federal Emergency Management Agency where she currently serves as a Public Affairs Officer.
