A Leaky Faucet

A Leaky Faucet

As a writer, I consider myself a leaky faucet. Water drops fall slowly from the damaged spout, similar to the sluggish pace at which I write. Writing becomes a very time consuming task because I find it difficult to put my ideas into words. I will eventually transfer my thoughts onto the page, but then notice myself constantly rereading, rewording, and deleting parts of a sentence in order to make it sound the way I would like. Doing this over and over again becomes a very monotonous and frustrating task. The tedious process is comparable to the repetitive and irritating plip-plop of the water droplets dripping from the faucet. A broken faucet will continue to leak and will not repair itself. Likewise, I know writing will continue to be a painful task if I keep neglecting to write. Therefore, a solution to turn the difficult task into a simpler one would be for me to write even more.
