I'm a Long Island native and got my start in engineering at Columbia University, where I studied Mechanical Engineering and early American Literature (no relationship). I took a dream job at Honeybee Robotics right out of school and in a few months was drilling holes on Mars with Spirit and Opportunity.

In 2006 I moved to Berkeley for grad school. Seven years, a Masters, and PhD later, I have rarely looked back. At least one of those years can be accounted for by flying autonomous planes with the C3UV lab in the California dessert. An entire other year is due to racing triathlon with the Cal Tri team. I was named to the All American team in 2009, our men's team won overall, and again placed third in the nation in 2011. All winning and non winning years were fabulous, 2006-2011.

These days I can be found at one of Silcon Valley's finest startups, 3D Robotics. I focus on taking crisp pictures from the air, showing them to farmers, seeing what they see, and saving them some money in the end. In addition to precise camera triggering and localization, my reserch interests include object tracking, fixed-wing aircraft control, and robotic system architecture. A full list of my publications can be found here.
