Brandon“BL” Lewis began his career as a teenager working for, and learning from, his father, thelate, legendary boxing promoter Butch Lewis. Brandon Lewis worked with his father onbehalf of media giant, BET; large sporting events, movie productions and musicdeals.
After graduating Cum Laude from Morehouse College in 2001, with aBachelors in Business Marketing, he was hired to work in A&R forBlackground Records with Barry Hankerson. Senior executives soon began tonotice his innate gift and ability to zero in on hitmakers and coordinate majorevents.
BL was the force behind several pivotal deals including securing Jay Zas the sole artist for the American Gangster movie soundtrack as well asnegotiating the long awaited rematch between fighters Bernard Hopkins and RoyJones Jr.
