State Representative Brandon L. McGee Jr. is serving his second term in the legislature and represents parts of Windsor and Hartford. He is a member of the legislature’s Appropriations and Education committees and serves as the Vice-chair of the Human Services committee.
Rep. McGee is a native of Hartford and serves as Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Capitol Region Education Council (CREC). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Alabama State University and a Master’s of Science in Management & Organizational Leadership from Albertus Magnus College. He is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Emerging Leaders Network (ELN), a boutique firm which specializes in innovative training and collaborative development, strategic planning, and leadership and organizational development. In 2009, he became the youngest recipient to receive the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials Community Award.
Early in his career, Brandon McGee was the Youth & College Division NAAACP President for the state of Alabama from 2004-2006. During that time, Rep. McGee became acquainted with many national figures in the civil rights movement. Brandon was fortunate to befriend Rosa Parks, one of the most influential figures of the civil rights movement, whom he considered a friend and mentor. These experiences and his desire to help people and communities reach their full potential led to his decision to seek public office. His long affiliation and strong ties to his alma mater, Alabama State University, led to the creation of the Brandon McGee Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarship in 2014.
He has numerous affiliations and serves in various capacities, including:

Rep. McGee is also a deacon and member of the Board of Directors of the Citadel of Love Church. He lives in Hartford with his wife Geralynn.
