Brandon Pope is an award winning broadcaster, multimedia journalist and producer with a versatile skill set. He will receive Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Telecommunications and Journalism in May 2014.

He writes, edits, produces, shoots and anchors newscasts. He also has extensive experience covering major events such as the Indy 500, The 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2012 Presidential Election from Chicago. He has interviewed Olympians like Daryl Homer and John Nunn, NBA players like LeBron James, senators and other prominent figures. Pope is a broadcaster by trade interested in news and sports coverage but possesses the potential to succeed in other fields.

As a social media analyst for the Ball State Office of Student Life, Pope has gained the ability to draft social media strategies for organizations. He not only attracts an audience but keeps them engaged. He also knows mobile technology, serving as editor and writing for the iPad magazine "72 Hours."

Pope advocates for diversity awareness in campus media as president of the Ball State Chapter of The National Association Of Black Journalists. He is dedicated to giving minorities a voice and advocating for their rights for fair and accurate coverage.

He also serves on the National Association Of Black Journalist's Media Monitoring Committee, a forum of media watchdogs that devise which media members and outlets need to step up diversity initiatives.
