My passion is hiking and being outdoors, I love to see new places and get the chance to experience new things. Even as a kid, I have always loved the outdoors and never wanted to go inside. I always loved to hike, and my passion for it grew out of a shared love of the outdoors that my parents and I had. Throughout my life, I have been on hundreds of hikes and spent countless nights in the mountains. My favorite hike was when I got the chance to go to Philmont Scout Ranch located in Cimarron, New Mexico. There I went backpacking for two weeks through many different terrains, cutting across valleys and ascending snow-covered peaks. Every year my family and I would go on various different excursions, sometimes just going for a day hike to a trail that my dad picked out, or other times, going on a several-day backpacking trip in the Appalachian Mountains. For me hiking is all about connecting myself with nature and the outdoors, I view it as an escape from the anxiety of the world where I can be at peace. While some people may say that the journey is more important than the destination, I have to disagree hiking is all about the destination. It is a remarkable experience to finally arrive at end of the hike after walking several miles, to look out and see the view.
