Juliana has over seven years of experience in public relations within several industries including beauty, pharmaceuticals, and IT for both corporate and consumer products. She began her career interning with a small PR agency during high school. There she discovered her passion for public relations, and within her first year in college landed an internship at the prestigious agency In Press Porter Novelli, assisting the Health Care team with projects for global brands such as Bristol Myers-Squibb, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Organon Pharmaceuticals.
Braz-Toia earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Communications- Journalism at Anhembi Morumbi University and upon graduating was offered a position at Burson Marsteller to be part of the Hewllet-Packard team. She successfully worked on the creative development and execution of campaigns to rejuvenate the brand’s image, which led to her being granted the 2007 Prominent Professional Award for the launch of a new notebook line. She also worked on developing media relations, handling over 60 media inquires a month, monitoring media coverage, writing press releases, pitching media and participating in brainstorming sessions.
Juliana grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and moved to New York City in 2008 to pursue her career in public relations. She is constantly developing her skills by attending workshops on various communications topics, focusing in particular on social media’s role in communications, and participating in professional groups such as New York Women in Communication. Through these experiences, she has expanded her vision of the communications field, developing a passion for not only PR, but also branding, customer engagement and social media.
In her spare time Juliana takes classic ballet classes. She lives in Astoria, NY with her husband.
