Brazil Potash
Private Company in Brazil
Brazil Potash is a firm that specializes in potash ore mining and processing. This vital mineral is important for agriculture, allowing farmers to enhance crop yields. The company's objective is to create a full development cycle, from underground extraction to fertilizing Brazilian fields.
The firm is now preparing for the launch of the Autazes Potash Project 120 kilometres southeast of Manaus. The business will cater to Brazil's agricultural sector and aim to produce more than 20% of Brazil's potash demand each year. Brazil Potash is in the pre-revenue stage and has not yet started mining operations. The project also has the full support of the Brazilian government, for developing and expediting the construction of the project. Brazil's minister of agriculture has visited Canada to meet with potash fertilizer companies and has singled out Brazil Potash as a key player in the space.
The Autazes Project will have a significant impact on the fight against global warming by reducing carbon emissions. The project will get 85% of its power from renewables, and emissions from transporting potash will be reduced because of the shorter distance to delivery to farms in Brazil. Brazil Potash has set the audacious goal of doubling the production of the project from 2.4 million tonnes per year to more than 5 million tpy. That major shift in output could change Brazil from a net importer to fulfilling almost all of its domestic demand, and eventually even becoming a net exporter, in long term.
The current Potash market is an entrenched duopoly between Canadian producers and Russian suppliers. Brazil Potash's entrance into the market will increase competition and provide farmers with an alternative source of potash.
Brazil Potash is a privately held company with no public shareholders. The company is open to investment and is focused on creating shareholder value through its strategic and valuable Autazes project.
