Savannah Jones + Chyle MC = Breakroom
Breakroom was formed in 2006 in Atlanta, Ga. The members consist of Savannah Jones aka Mother Superia and Chyle MC. Their sound is deeply rooted in inspirational hip-hop soul music. Breakroom recorded 2 albums, which both received both national and international acclaim. Their debut album (Beautiful Universe) had a unique inspirational gospel theme and was produced by Vitamin-D (Seattle, WA producer) and DJ DR (Charlotte, NC producer). In 2009 they released the 2nd album (The Classic Break Up) which has a grown up theme of the 2 artists dealing with life, love and relationships. They combined both albums to create sort of a best of album called (The Classic Breakup of a Beautiful Universe).
Recently after a 10 year hiatus...they reunited to record a (8 song Album/EP) called"20 Minute Break". They decided to make an album that was catered to the grown up hip hop music lovers & 9 to 5 workers who can listen to the album on their lunch breaks. Which is a clever play on the groups name "Breakroom"...which is also a play on the classic "break beats" that was the foundation of hip-hop music.
Savannah Jones started her music journey in Miami FL. under the name Mother Superia. Mother Superia signed an exclusive recording contract with Island Records and released a single "Most of All" produced by Redman. The video was directed by GZA of Wu Tang Clan. The single received both national and international recognition and led to tours opening for KRS-1 and Warren G. Once released from her contract Mother Superia moved to Atlanta and changed her name to Savannah Jones.
Chyle MC is a singer/songwriter who blends a unique soulful-croonlike flow to neo/jazzy hip-hop grooves. Chyle’s a singer with charm to burn. He sings, he raps, he croons and he does all of these with style and panache. Chyle has a magnificent, soulful voice & probing, often deceptively simple lyrics.
