I was born and raised in California and later joined the U.S. Air Force as a medic, a path that took me to Texas, Virginia, and Mississippi, as well as overseas to the Middle East. I later transferred to the Air Force Reserves in Florida, where I earned my RN and welcomed my daughter. Today, I live in Alabama with my longtime partner, who is a firefighter.

• I served on the morale committee during my deployment.
• I received my nickname (Bo) from the military as it is short for my last name (Bonilla).
• Mom life has made caffeine a daily necessity, not a luxury.
• One of my favorite desserts is mango sticky rice.
