Student and Teacher in Brownsville, Texas
My name is Brenda Lopez and I am currently enrolled in UTRGV, and I’ll be soon graduating this Spring semester in Early Childhood Education ESL. I am looking forward to graduating and doing what I like best, teaching and helping out others.
For me, education opens many opportunities for people. Just thinking about how one day I will one day will become a teacher and give an education to our future generation, makes me feel great about my career. I know that I will give my students the tools to succeed in their education and become someone successful, and that’s what I want to do in life, make a difference in someone’s life.
Not only do I want to become a general teacher, but I would like to become a teacher who teaches students English through content. Becoming a ESL teacher will tremendous accomplishment in my life since I, myself, struggle in acquiring and learning the English Language during my childhood. Luckily with determination and dedication, I overcame that obstacle and I am now studying in Early Childhood Education ESL to help out future students who struggle in English, just like I did in my past.
I am currently working part-time as a mentor in my university helping out students. As I mentioned earlier, I like helping out others and making a difference in one’s life. Whatever academic issues students have, I help them out trying to give them the best advice.
Regarding my personal life, I have 3 dogs in my house, two German Shepard and a Chihuahua. During my spare time I enjoy listening to music, singing, and working out. I also enjoy being creative and doing arts and crafts and taking photography.
