Brendan Hanson

Brendan is a freelance artist who has been based in Perth since 2005. He is a graduate of the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre in 1994.

His professional career has spanned over two decades and has incorporated performances in Opera, Musicals, Classical and contemporary plays, Dance, Cabaret, Film and Television. Some of his credits include for WA Opera, The Tales of Hoffmann, Tosca, The Magic Flute, Orpheus in the Underworld and Carmen, for Opera Australia, Tristan und Isolde. He performed in Singin' in the Rain for David Atkins and two productions of Les Miserables for Cameron Mackintosh. He has performed for Black Swan State Theatre Company in Arcadia, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing. For Deckchair Theatre in Checklist for an Armed Robber, The Lonely Hearts Club, As You Like It, A Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night. For the Brainbox Project in The Last Five Years, Lebensraum, The Grande Revue, Sharing's Not For everyone, Who Through that Jaffa? and Are We There Yet? He sang the role of Father in Nova ensemble's Into the Shimmer Heat and was a member of the Opening Gala Company for The State Theatre Centre of WA. Film and TV credits include South Pacific, Under One Roof and Air Australia. Brendan is a finalist on Channel Ten's I Will Survive, Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
