Musician, Student, and Filmmaker in Syracuse, New York
Music has been a center of gravity for Brendan since his preschool years when he began his first piano lesson. At age 14, he entered a state song writing contest and was the county winner. The experience was validation that he had talent and he began composing music for various short films during high school, as well as composing the music for a play that ran in an Asbury Park, NJ theater for a couple of weeks.
Brendan currently studies at Syracuse University. Enthusiastic to nurture his passion for music, he was accepted into the prestigiously competitive Bandier Program. Brendan is working to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Recording and Allied Entertainment Industries.
On campus, Brendan is involved in several extra-curricular activities. Since his freshman year, he hosts his own radio show on WERW every Saturday from 4-5pm. Brendan also enjoys composing for short films through Ottonomous Productions, a short film club. Peer advising gives Brendan the opportunity to lead students as they make the transition from high school to college. Another volunteer interest is participating at "Cripping the Con." This convention provokes discussions about the underrepresentation of people with disabilities through comic books, and how this can relate to modern life.
