The recipient of numerous awards for excellence in auditing and leadership, Brenda Roberts most recently served a four-year term as the City Auditor for Oakland, California. In this role, Brenda Roberts led a team of auditors and investigators and identified more than $4 million in cost savings and revenue recapture to the City.
Ms. Roberts' early positions include Senior Audit Manager for Deloitte & Touche and entered into public service as Audit Manager for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of the Inspector General. She later performed similar functions for the City and County of San Francisco.
Returning to private industry in 2006, Ms. Roberts oversaw the compliance of proper business practices for Core-Mark, Intl, Safeway and AAA of the Tri-State northern California region.
Holding an MBA in Finance from Golden State University, Ms. Roberts is a two-time honoree of the National Local Government Association. She was also awarded by Deloitte and the Office of Inspector General for her exceptional work product and leadership abilities.
Ms. Roberts has contributed to the work of the Institute of Internal Auditors as chapter president and as member of the International Academic Relations Committees. She is a Commissioner with the Oakland Budget & Advisory Commission, an adjunct professor at Bay Area colleges, and a volunteer in local public schools.
