Painter Brenda Schodt gives back to her community by donating hand-crafted pieces to help raise money for nonprofits. Brenda Schodt of Chandler, Arizona, paints southwest scenes on glass ornaments in addition to traditional Christmas motifs. Schodt takes an entire year to get ready for the holidays, giving individual attention to each ornament she makes. Understanding the importance of charity to her community, Brenda Schodt aids pediatric care organizations, such as The Melonhead Foundation and The Emily Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Additionally, she helped San Marcos Elementary School by donating ornaments to raise funds for school supplies for students from families with low incomes. She has also assisted the Arizona Basset Hound Rescue, the Tempe Community Action Agency, Inc., and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Schodt possesses a variety of artistic talents. Along with hand painting glass ornaments featuring Southwestern themes, she designs custom ornaments for businesses, weddings, holiday parties, and other events. She also produces flagstone and sandstone paintings for new homes, anniversaries, and weddings. Brenda Schodt’s work appears in gift shops throughout Arizona, and her pieces have been displayed in a number of juried art shows throughout the state. These shows include the Fountain Hills Festival of Arts and Crafts, the 4th Avenue Street Fair in Tucson, and the Tempe Festival of the Arts. She also has participated in the 25th Anniversary of Las Noches de Las Luminarias. Schodt graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. As her business has grown, she has had much support from her family and the community. Brenda's business is family owned and operated out of Chandler, Arizona and has been featured on Good Morning Arizona and in a few local publications.
