Brenda Watrach

Howdy!

My name is Brenda Watrach, and I am a Sophomore at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. I am currently an Elementary Education and Communication double major. I look forward to teaching at a Chicago Public School of need in the near future. I am the olest of two, and I watch over my sister as if she was my own. My family is truly my motivation, for my Mom came to the United States not knowing a word of English and now, to this day, she astonishes me with how much she knows.

With my intro being said I must say that getting this far ahead in life, I have realized that no human on this planet is perfect. Those who say they are cannot recognize their flaws. This type of viewpoint has led me to believe that "I am not my mistakes". With that being said, one can always learn from making a "boo-boo" as my litte sister would say. The mistake theory is one of many lessons I have come across as I treck through leaving my youth and entering my adulthood. Which, by the way, has been extremely hard. At times, I fid myself wrapped around the thoughts that I am still a child, but moving out of my home and into College dorms, attempting to cook, clean, do laundry, and balance my finances, has taught me that I am no longer that little girl that would sell Lemonade outside of my small home. I am growing up and there is a journey out there waiting to overtake my life, and I am ready for it.
