Brent Wright serves as Captain on the Embraer 175 with Mesa Airlines, having initially joined the airline in 2014 before advancing to the role of captain less than two years later. Previously, he was a Flight Instructor with South Florida’s Hollywood Flight Training and the Dean International Flight School. His earliest experiences as a pilot involved nearly two years as first officer on a CL-65. In addition to his work at Mesa Airlines, Brent Wright regularly volunteers his time to national flight programs run by the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) ACE programs.

Mr. Wright was a dean’s list student during his time at Tennessee State University in Nashville, achieving his Bachelors of Science in Aeronautic and Industrial Technology in 2005. He continued his education and obtained a Masters of Public Administration (MPA), which he completed in 2007. His professional certification and ratings include Airline Transport Pilot, and Certified Flight Instructor certificates.

When he is not flying, he enjoys staying active by fishing. He is also a frequent supporter of Great American Teach-In events at schools throughout Central Florida.
