Brett is an eight-year attorney who specializes in personal injury litigation, employment discrimination litigation, and Americans with Disabilities Act cases. Brett graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law with a 3.53 GPA. While in law school, Brett was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the Justinian Honorary Law Society; he achieved the highest grade in the school in civil procedure; he was a finalist in the prestigious MacKenzie Lewis Appellate Advocacy Competition; and, he was named to the Dean's List for five consecutive semesters. Less than two years after law school, Brett won his first trial as first chair, and was lead counsel in Federal Court in New Orleans in litigation involving construction of the flood walls and levees in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Prior to joining Cohen Grossman, Brett recovered millions of dollars for Florida Hospital, the emergency physicians in the Central Florida hospitals, and Orlando-based diagnostic testing facilities in breach of contract litigation against insurance companies. Brett is considered by his peers to be one of the brightest and most creative litigators in the State of Florida, and has given several seminars to his colleagues on the nuances of Florida's No-Fault law for motor vehicle accidents. Brett is also the co-founder and President of Orlando Outreachers, Inc., which is Orlando's largest volunteer organization with over 3,000 members. Orlando Outreachers provides interactive and fulfilling volunteer opportunities, and its purpose is to introduce new volunteers to a like-minded group of people who value a lifestyle centered around serving the less fortunate.
