Brett is a cultural communicator and media pro with more than a dozen years of journalism experience. He now oversees communications about exhibitions, collections and public programs at one of America's great cultural institutions, the Library of Congress.
During his career at The Associated Press, Brett covered the arts and culture, government, nonprofits, public media, education and breaking news. He has written extensively about museums and cultural organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution and Kennedy Center. Brett's award-winning writing and video work has been published and broadcast in newspapers and TV outlets around the world, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS News, CNN, NBC's Today and ABC's Good Morning America.
Brett has also managed media relations for the George Washington University, promoting research and the arts and positioning museums, artists and political experts to address top issues of the day.
Brett earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at American University where he serves as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Communication.
