Hello, I'm Brett. I still take it* apart to make it work better.

These days that means building Homewright — an AI that remembers everything about your home so you don't have to; restoring a 1932 coffee factory into a cultural one; and turning out-of-print books into open digital editions, one LaTeX manuscript at a time.

Before this: I was one of the first fifty people at Rackspace and spent a decade building the systems that ran it. Then my brother and I started r26D and launched software for truckers, realtors, and job seekers.

Life is my experiment.
