As the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations with Morrison Street Capital in Portland, Oregon, Brett Hyland develops and nurtures consulting and strategic relationships with other financial institutions. Morrison Street Capital oversees a series of discretionary real estate funds, operating as a partnership between Rance Gregory and the commercial real estate firm Norris, Beggs & Simpson. Hyland brings extensive experience with institutional and tax-exempt investors to his position. Prior to joining Morrison Street Capital, Brett Hyland served as the Vice President of Wall Street Associates. He also spent four years as the Regional Sales Director for Institutional Investments at Safeco Asset Management Company.
Brett Hyland initiated his career with the Eastman Kodak Company, where he was a Sales Representative in the Business Information Services Division. In 1988, he joined Kidder, Peabody & Co. as a Financial Advisor. From there, Hyland accepted a position with Charles Schwab & Co. as the Regional Marketing Manager for Schwab Institutional in Southern California. With his experience in financial services, he procured a position as the Vice President of Institutional Financial Services with U.S. Bank/Qualivest Capital Management, located in Portland.
An alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Brett Hyland graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. Aside from his studies, he also served as Captain of the school's baseball team, which was nationally ranked and earned co-champion accolades in the Southern California Baseball Association. He continues to support his alma mater as a Virtual Advisor for the Department of Communication.
In addition to his professional work, Brett Hyland formerly served as a Trustee of The Library Foundation supporting the Multnomah County Library in Portland, and currently belongs to the Foundation's Investment Committee. He is also a former President of the Oregon Forum, a group of business leaders focused on community affairs in the state.
