Brett Meyer

Gothenburg, NE

Brett was born and raised in Nebraska graduating from Brady High School in 1993. Following high school he attended Colorado Aero Tech in Broomfield, CO receiving his Airframe and Power plant certificate. He worked in the industry for three years building Doppler weather radar systems for Wind Ryder Engineering of Broomfield.In 1997 Brett worked for Genesis Network Development. He participated in the launch of VDSL internet technology through Quest and was responsible for testing and turning up several fiber optic projects in the Denver metro area.In 2000 Brett moved back to the family property at Jeffrey Reservoir to raise his son Cameron. After moving back home he started working for Steve Budke at Budke Power sports of North Platte, Ne. While working in sales and sales management at the Power sports shop for ten years he became known as the “go to” fun guy. In 2010 Brett started working for Skyview Farms and RTI Technology Solutions, and then moved with the RTI family to their new location in downtown Gothenburg. Brett specializes in employee engagement, virtual computing, security, wireless solutions, and computer sales and service.Brett joined Rotary in 2011 and became club president 2012-2013. He was voted Rookie Rotarian of the Year at District Conference in 2013, helped as Assistant Governor, and moved to be Public Relations Chair for the district. He freely admits that he is addicted to PETS and enjoys facilitating leadership in the Zone. He is active in increasing membership by assisting the charter of the Rotary After Dark Club and the Rotary Club of Broken Bow. Brett is a Paul Harris fellow 1 and has attended multiple Zone events. Along with Rotary, Brett is a member of the Church of our Savior Episcopal church of North Platte, NE and a member of the Gothenburg Improvement Company.Brett enjoys his local coffee group, social networking events, parties at the lake house, Rotary, as well as boating, riding motorcycles, and fishing with his son Cameron at their property on Jeffery Reservoir. His partner Becky Anderson of Omaha, NE is a home health nurse and a birth clerk at CHI health systems. She is supportive of his travel and very social life.
