Hello, my name is Brian Corwin, a recent gradaute from Madonna University. My major is Sports Management which is a curiculum based on business ethics, marketing, management, sales & public relations, journalism and other aspects of Sports Operations.
During my senior year at Madonna, I had the pleasure of being a game night intern with the Plymouth Whalers. I had many duties such as controlling social media update during away games, escorting the mascot "Shooter" around the arena, assisting the promotion captain with prize giveaways and selection, selling programs and calenders, selling kids club memberships, and assisting in the press box by running the advertisement "reads" on the matrix boards.
(I also assisted the DJ by warming up the speakers and testing microphones used during the games as wellplaying music until he was ready to take over. I dabbled in Arena Annoucing and DJing as well).
I also have a Criminal Justice background. Straight away out of highschool class of 2007, I went to summer classes at WCC and before long declared my major to be Criminal Justice with a Law Enforcement concentration. A semester later I transfered to Lansing Community College so I could attend class with my brother and get a different perspective on junior college life. Once I was ready to move on from LCC i transfered to Madonna to finish my B.A. in Criminal Justice but decided to switch majors to Sports Management when I found out such a program exists (and I didn't would no long be required to have a gun on me during work hours).
However Criminal Justice is still an interest of mine, I have uncle who is very close who is a retired Deputy and many friends from my CJ days whom I still stay in touch with after all these years away from the program. I do plan to apply for at least an associates degree in Criminal Justice to supplment my degree in Sports Management, or if I do not get hired right away maybe I will return and finish the last few classes needed for my B.A. in Criminal Justice.
I would like to offer you a warm handshake and thank you for getting to know me.
