Champaign, Illinois, United States
Hello! My name is Brian, and I am currently a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeking a degree in economics and a concentration in communication. As a student at the University of Illinois that is eager to learn more, I am seeking opportunities in interning with various organizations and companies.
I've had many experiences working in retail (Lego), non-profit organizations (A Cup of Grace), and volunteering (Grace Church). One of my biggest accomplishments was when I helped organize an event for this non-profit organization I led. Our purpose for this non-profit organization was to raise money for various charities that assist underprivileged people. With my addition to the organization team, we were able to raise 7,500 dollars, which is well over our 5,000 dollar goal. As a leader of the organization, I was able to create awareness by taking advantage of social media, specifically, Facebook. Since I took over as the leader of the organization, I was able to boost the organization's awareness (number of people reached) by over 500% since the organization started.
The two biggest skills that I have acquired from working in retail, non-profits, and volunteering are communication skills and leadership skills. I think these are the two essential skills needed to succeed in any form of business.
As my college education nears to an end and my career nears to a new beginning, I am very excited to start applying my valued skills to the business world. With the strengths and skills that I have developed over time, I strongly believe I can be a great fit for any marketing or finance positions avaliable.
