I was born and raised in Detroit, MI having attended some of the best schools in the city, and post-high school I found myself in DC at Howard University.
Somehow I stumbled upon public relations and its many wonders, so I pursued my degree dealing with that focus. In May of 2012, I graduated from the the John H. Johnson School of Communications with honors.
Throughout my college career I had the opportunity to obtain experience through internships for companies including the National Association for Victims of Crime, the Beckles Collective, LLC, and the Black AIDS Institute, to name a few. My experience ranges from social media and research to drafting press releases and pitching.
I seek to gain growth, progress and success in public relations and I have started my venture in the business world at the Black AIDS Insitute as the Communications and Interactive Media Coordinator.
I am currently in Detroit pursuing my pr career in a city striving to rebuild itself amidst economic struggle and high crime rates, and I seek to find my passion in pr here as new businesses open and the overall state of Detroit improves.
My skills include but are not limited to handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines, mastering tasks in a timely fashion, interpersonal communication, attention to detail, time management, and exceptional computer, organization, written, and verbal skills.
