I’m a Sommelier who specializes in Japanese beverages: sake aka nihonshu (日本酒) and shochu (焼酎). The spark came in 2003 during my first visit to Japan to study Japanese whisky when I tasted my first Junmai Daiginjo sake. For those of you who are aware of Japanese whisky yes, you read that correctly. This spark eventually grew into a passion so strong that I abandoned a successful IT career to persue it. My vision was and still is to bring Japanese sake to the world. In doing so I beacame a sommelier to bridge Japanese beverages with western cuisine and beyond.
