Brian Derrick

Brian Derrick possesses 20 years of experience with healthcare organizations in Pennsylvania and Ohio. As interim chief financial officer at Pennsylvania-based Jefferson Health System from 2002 to 2003, Brian Derrick partnered with its CEO to renegotiate its founding member agreement. He also worked closely with the healthcare provider's vice president of insurance to establish an offshore captive insurance company and created a financial monitoring system for four of the firm's subsystems.

Mr. Derrick served at Einstein Healthcare Network from 2003 to 2011 as CFO and senior vice president. While there, he was responsible for securing the required capital financing to construct a replacement facility. He oversaw a $15 million increase in the annual revenue cycle and worked with the chief executive officer to execute a $50 million turnaround. He also served as the go-to candidate to replace the organization's CEO if the need arose.

In 2011, Mr. Derrick joined the Ohio-based Summa Health System, serving as CFO and senior vice president until 2018. While at Summa Health, he played a crucial role in reducing its debt to capital ratio by 15 percent while doubling cash-on-hand. His work at the organization saw him nominated for the Crain's CFO of the Year in Non-Profit Healthcare in Cleveland award. Outside of the office, Mr. Derrick enjoys snow skiing and gardening.
