Legislative Aide, Government, and Lobbyist in Delaware
Hello, my name is Brian Holajter. In my background, I have significant experience within county government, having served as a Communications Executive Assistant under County Executive Paul Clark, and in my current position as Legislative Aide to Councilman John Cartier. In these roles, I have gained great insight into the workings of the county government, and local government in general, as well as a solid fundamental understanding of public works at the local and state level. In addition, I work daily with constituents and organizations (private and governmental) in navigating the public works processes of New Castle County. I have worked on budgets for all county departments, as aide to the co-chair of the Finance Committee, where I addressed and helped create staffing, hiring, funding, and purchasing policies.
Beyond the county, my background reflects experience in both state government, lobbying, management, and private sector small business growth. I worked as an advocate and lobbyist for education reform; I was the Chief Operating Officer in a center for autism treatment and helped build the business from the ground up, negotiating contracts, also serving as project and construction manager; and I managed restaurants and food service businesses for over 20 years. While I do not have an engineering background, I feel this variety of skills, including a strong management background, experience negotiating contracts, and public policy knowledge would be an asset to you and your organization.
I also bring to the table strong ability to navigate the political process, as well as a deep understanding of technology and a desire to innovate operations to keep up with the marketplace of the 21 Century.
