College basketball prospect Brian Lamar Bowen II also spends some of his time off the court “giving back.” He has volunteered at the Community Based Intervention (CBI) Giving Tree Farm in Lansing, Michigan. The farm includes a garden designed for people with disabilities, focusing on those with traumatic brain injuries, providing on-site rehabilitation and vocational training programs. Brian Lamar Bowen II also supports the efforts of the Jason Richardson Foundation, providing development and training opportunities for young people.

Brian Bowen plays basketball at La Lumiere High School in La Porte, Indiana, after transferring from Arthur Hill High School in his native Saginaw, Michigan. A 6-foot-7-inch guard with a refined shooting touch and instinct for the game, he stood out at the summer AAU Nike Peach Jam in South Carolina, scoring 36 points and grabbing 10 rebounds en route to his Meanstreets team’s victory over powerhouse Nike South Beach. Ahead of his senior season at La Lumiere High, he has narrowed down his college choices to Michigan State, Arizona, Creighton, North Carolina State, UCLA, and Texas.
