Brian McLaren

I am an Architect, an Urbanist, a Lover of life, and a Dreamer.

I co-founded an architecture firm in Dallas Texas and managed it for almost a decade. During that time I also served on the board of directors for The Congress for the New Urbanism, and also served as executive editor for Columns Magazine, the magazine for the Dallas Chapter of the AIA. At the end of 2010, I decided to relocate from Dallas, to a more urban and walkable city. I moved to Washington, D.C. in July of 2011 and took a position as a Director of Information and Resources at the American Institute of Architects.

When not solving world problems, I can be found exploring urban neighborhoods, looking for cool buildings, and taking my dog to the park. I am addicted to real estate blogs, live music, and meat-on-a-stick you can only buy from street vendors and food carts.
