Brianna Graves

Brianna (pronounced BREE-ON-AH, not BREE-ANNE-UH) is the nomadic mama, writer and aspiring photographer behind BURBS + a BBQ. With a thirst for adventure and a taste for culture, Brianna has always sought the path less traveled.

The first ten years of Brianna’s career involved managing clients and brands in the advertising industry, instigating her own global adventure called The Saturn Return Project™, leading the crew at IHAVEANIDEA. Inc., and partnering with the Love of Her Life to reinvigorate and reinvent ADC (the Art Directors Club), the oldest non-profit advertising and design organization in the world, as its Director of Content + Communications.

After such a passionate and fearless professional trajectory — one which took her around the world and back to New York City — Brianna and her Love found themselves pregnant with the World’s Cutest Human (aka “WCH,” a now-two+-year-old, so named by a biased panel of parents and grandparents). Soon thereafter, Brianna assumed the prestigious, though unfamiliar-to-her role of HouseMom.

She has since fused her experience and diverse skills into the nomadic freelance content creator she is today. Though the truth is that the majority of Brianna’s time is still devoted to her young-and-in-need-of-a-lot-of-attention daughter. And this blog. And surviving and thriving on a life-morphing adventure.

While Brianna will always be the global nomad she was pre-baby and the Jersey City-loving, coffee-chugging, shower-desiring, yoga pants-wearing HouseMom she was when BURBS + a BBQ was born, she can now add trailer-pulling, RV-redecorating road warrior to the mix. Evolution is key, right?
