Hi, I’m Brianna. I’m a student living in Waurn Ponds, Australia. I am a fan of writing, animals, and technology. I’m also interested in reading and volunteering. I am currently a PhD candidate at Deakin University under the supervision of Associate Professors Maria Takolander and Sean Redmond. My creative artifact and exegesis will examine representations of memory and embodiment in relation to science fiction, speculative fiction, and cyberpunk texts through a posthuman lens. Taking on disembodiment myths and Cartesian mind/body dualisms will be the starting point, but I am also hoping to look at AI, prosthetic memory, memory implants, mind-uploading, revisionism, and human relations with the nonhuman and technology. I am hoping to produce a series of experimental short stories and poems (although maybe it will end up being a novel, it's early days) hoping to be reflective of differently embodied forms and computation. My cat, Courage, will hopefully keep me sane.
