After completing his education at Clear Lake High School in 1991, he embarked on an academic journey at the University of Texas in Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. He then furthered his studies with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Polymers from Florida State University in 2000, setting a solid foundation for his professional achievements.
His professional journey began at Mosaic Technologies in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he distinguished himself as a Senior Scientist. In this role, he developed a novel 3-D biopolymer substrate for microarray fabrication, marking the start of a series of significant professional milestones. His career then progressed through a series of roles at Matrix Technologies, Apogent Technologies, and Fisher Scientific, where he continually enhanced his scientific expertise and leadership skills.
In 2005, his career trajectory significantly changed when Dr. Brian Patterson joined Agilent Technologies. Starting as a Genomics Field Applications Scientist, he quickly advanced through the ranks, becoming a Product Specialist and then a District Manager. His outstanding contributions were recognized with the prestigious President's Club award in 2009 and 2014. From 2015 to 2022, he served as an Associate Vice President within Agilent's Diagnostics and Genomics Group, leading three commercial channels and establishing the Corporate Accounts channel.
