Hi, I'm Brian Scherner, a Registered Nurse and nurse manager based here in Portland, Oregon. I grew up right in this vibrant city, which instilled in me a deep love for the outdoors and a strong sense of community from a very young age. I attended Oregon Health & Science University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My career started in critical care, a field that taught me a lot about the complexities of healthcare and the importance of compassionate patient interactions.

After some years in critical care, I realized that I could make a broader impact by focusing on preventive care. This led me to shift towards community health nursing, where I now devote my time to educating the public on health maintenance and disease prevention. I’m particularly passionate about creating programs that cater to the diverse needs of our community here in Portland, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare.

Currently, I manage a team of nurses at one of Portland's leading medical centers. I strive to lead by example, fostering an environment that prioritizes teamwork, mentorship, and patient-centered care. Outside of work, I'm heavily involved in local health initiatives, volunteering to improve healthcare accessibility and advocating for mental health awareness.

When I'm not at work or volunteering, you'll likely find me enjoying the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest—hiking, kayaking, or skiing are just a few of my favorite activities. I’m also a big foodie, always on the lookout for new culinary experiences, especially here in Portland’s dynamic food scene.

Through all these activities, both professional and personal, I aim to promote a holistic approach to health that enriches our community's well-being.
