Me? Lets See...
Kampala, Uganda
Am passionate about all things ICT, Technology Training and FOSS. After school, I founded SoftSolutions, a private Consultancy, and 2 years ago, The Uganda Center for Open Source Software.
In my second term on the FOSSFA Council, I have been elected to the Executive, as General Secretary, but still serve as FOSSFA Country Liaison for Uganda.
I train ICT Concepts, Open Source Solutions, Linux Courses with COSS.ug, FOSS Business Models as well as LPI Certification with FOSSFA and GIZ's ict@innovations project.
I've received an achievement award by AED-Satellife - Center for Health and Information Technology, for work related to strengthening Health Information Systems in Uganda, using African Access Points and Mobile Devices.
Some of my exciting works were with extensive use of Mobile devices for household data collection with various projects in Ghana (Ghana Sustainable Change Project), Nigeria (Netmark Nigeria) and in Uganda.
Also, I have been honored to co-authored an LPI Study Guide with ict@innovations' Certification Pillar.
For now, I spend most of my time supporting staff and students at the 98% FOSS based ICT Department of the International Health Sciences University; and doing free-lance consulting, including Web Design (self-taught Drupaler), E-learning Solutions (Moodle & Dokeos) as well as Linux Systems Set-Up and Administration, for Individuals as well as Organizations.
Voluntarily, I help to mobilize the Linux and FOSS Community in Uganda for some community based projects, such as Probono ICT Systems and Structures Auditing, something we hope to extend to NGOs and Academic Institutions, as a way of the Linux Community giving back to Uganda.
