Hey guys, my name is John Baria, and I want to talk to you about my family's timber farm. Starting from a young age, (nearly as long as I can remember) I have always enjoyed taking trips to my family's farm in South Georgia. It was always super fun to leave the Atlanta Suburbs for and epic weekend in the great outdoors. There were definitely always cool things and as I grew older, I only got busier. Activities slowly changed from romping around in the woods, to learning how to operate heavy tools, vehicles, and other cool stuff. learning these practical skills taught me many things and brought me to the point where I can now complete most agricultural tasks that present themselves and live off the land if need be. Looking at the big picture however, going to the farm as I grew up taught me to have a sense of wonder, enjoyment of nature, and in some ways an identity that I otherwise would not have as a resident of Atlanta.
Not only has the farm helped my personal life, but it has shaped many relationships that i have with my friends and family. Some of my favorite memories that I share with my father, grandfather, siblings, and cousins have taken place at the farm. I wholeheartedly agree that my family's roots in the farm are truly priceless, and I wouldn't trade them for any sum of money.
