Bridget Ross
Executive in United States
Education: Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta (Class of ‘87)
Bridget Ross is a proud member of C200 Women’s Executive Leadership Organization. Celebrating the accomplishments of women leaders is one of her passions. But she’s adamant that the gender vs. gender rhetoric in the corporate world has got to go. A modern woman, she doesn’t think that men need to be brought down in order for women to thrive. While championing the incredible accomplishments of women leaders is something she cares deeply about, she is amazed by the work of men in executive spaces as well.
In addition to her C200 membership, Bridget Ross has also participated in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit and Watermark Conference for Women. In 2016, she addressed the Watermark audience, lending her executive expertise to rising entrepreneurs. She aims to actively participate in more conferences for women in corporate spaces, particularly for young women who are working to rise up the ranks.
Recently, Ross has become interested in Workplace Wellness programs. A leader who sets emphasis on inclusivity, she values investing in her employees. Support and encouragement are key values in her approach to executive-employee partnerships. Fostering dynamic corporate governance is also an aspect she believes to add strength to a company, overall.
Outside of the office, Bridget Ross does her part to empower disadvantaged communities. In 2008, she traveled to New Delhi, India with twenty-four of her colleagues. Together, she and her peers assisted SOS Children’s Villages International. The experience proved outstandingly rewarding to the group, who helped to establish a clean water source for the community. Additionally, Ross has volunteered her time at Somerville Women’s Shelter and Palo Alto Shelter, in part with United Way. She looks forward to continuing with her Community Work efforts, as she finds the work to be both productive and fulfilling.
