BRIDGETT M. DAVIS’ new novel, Into The Go-Slow, will be published by Feminist Press in Fall 2014.

Her debut novel Shifting Through Neutral, (Amistad, 2004) was a finalist for the 2005 Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright LEGACY Award. She was selected as the 2005 New Author of the Year by Go on Girl! Book Club -- the largest national reading group for African-American women.

Ms. Davis is the Books Editor for Bold As Love Magazine and curator for the reading series Sundays @ The Sackett.

She has written for The Washington Post, Essence, O, The Oprah Magazine, and TheRoot.com and is a Professor at Baruch College, CUNY, where she teaches Creative Writing and Journalism. She is Director of the Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program.

Her feature-length drama, Naked Acts, was theatrically released in 1998. The film, which screened in 25 film festivals on four continents, has won key awards, most recently the Audience Award at its 10th Anniversary screening at the African Diaspora Film Festival.

She is a native of Detroit, Michigan and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
