Just over the Brigantine Bridge nestled at the north end of Atlantic City is the Historic Gardner’s Basin. The 750-gallon Touch Tank gives visitors the chance to touch horseshoes, spider crabs, hermit, sea stars, channel and knobbed whelk, common periwinkle, common shore shrimp, and horse and blue mussels. Every exhibit comes with information stations for self-tours, aside from the 16-station Ocean Life Education Center for in-depth exploration. While providing access to the public through boats, the center has also become a place for community gatherings and a favorite venue for meetings and parties.
