Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Throughout her career in environmental health and practice, Brigette Noren of Calgary, Alberta, has demonstrated a comprehensive knowledge of policy as well as the scientific principles that guide it. While working toward her degree in environmental science at the University of Manitoba, she served as a seasonal conservation officer and subsequently as a district fire ranger with Manitoba Conservation. Before relocating to Calgary, Brigette Noren performed further duties with the Manitoba Conservation as an environment officer, in which role she oversaw compliance proceedings related to sewage and waste water treatment.
Also formerly an environmental health officer with the Cree Nation Tribal Health Center, where she provided public education as well as facility inspection and analysis, Ms. Noren advanced her qualifications with receipt of a bachelor of environmental health in 2007. She then relocated to Alberta and assumed the role of public health inspector with Calgary Health Region, now known as Alberta Health Services, where she built an in-depth knowledge of Alberta environmental and health policy. Now an environmental health officer with the same organization, she routinely assesses public facilities to minimize and address toxicity and safety risk.
