Early in life, family and friends could tell that D Bright had a future in music. He began making songs on his first Casio keyboard at age four. By six he began to excel with his first instrument, the violin. By age nine, he played the alto saxophone, which was his instrument of choice until age 15. During his senior year in high school, D Bright enrolled in a music class that taught students to perform on Yamaha, Korg, and Roland keyboards. ​ In 1997, D Bright received a full athletic scholarship from the University of Oklahoma. In college, D Bright achieved successes in music, athletics, and academics. In 1999, he enrolled in piano I and II to further his musical talents. In 2000, He was a member of the University of Oklahoma's national championship football team. After an injury ended his sports career, D Bright found employment and attended graduate school. In 2002, D Bright produced SydeWayz Productions' first album, The Syde Vol I. The album was an underground success, and helped form a strong fan base. D Bright then released SoufWess Protocol (2004), and InSyde the Game: Grind and Hustle (2006). The Grind and Hustle album was an internet success. Survive & Advance (2009) received internet radio play throughout the United States, and has sold well with a growing global fan base. D Bright's fifth studio album, International Business, is his best work to date.After the success of Survive & Advance, D Bright was recruited by several North American record companies. However, the negotiations fell through because of a lack of creative control over the content of the new studio album, and other contract disagreements. D Bright decided to release International Business independently, which ensured his control over the project and profit from album sales.
