It is with unwavering passion that I advocate for years the “Re-Thinking; Re-Inventing” of our Philippine Cinema -- to help uplift the stature of Filipino films in the International arena and mainly in our home, with our own “kababayan”; with the Filipino students and teachers for our active “art film” appreciation, patronizing the Filipino filmmakers’ creation and veering away from entrenched mindset of colonial mentality reflecting the fallacious idea that Filipino films are of low or no quality worthy of a global recognition.

My heart is very thankful of the blessings of the local and international awards of my films due to content significance and I pray for my joy be shared especially with our Filipino youth and mentors alike through the “meeting of minds and consciousness” in event of the “Film Retrospective” (with the film screening, analyses and forum) as an effective learning medium that vividly paints the plight of our fellow Filipinos, good platform for social changes and promotes the Philippines’ rich art culture and people as in “Thy Womb”.

Kindly join me on this collaborative effort to celebrate the commitment in aiming that “Tatak Pinoy” – the seal of high caliber films, not only to entertain but to inspire for accountable action, to cultivate sensitivity, compassion towards our “less-privileged kababayans”.
