New York City

One summer not long ago, three friends and I co-founded General Assembly, a community of entrepreneurs in New York City that grew into a global education company that provides opportunity and education in technology, design, and business.

We launched General Assembly in early 2011 in partnership with the City of New York, and we now operate a global network of campuses in other cities like London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Sydney. At GA, I lead partnerships and global business development, and occasionally teach some classes.

Before all that, I founded a venture-backed social gaming company oriented around school rivalries and sports teams. I also worked for Apple on the side during college, and started a small online furniture business.

At Yale, I studied Sociology (which has come in handy surprisingly often in my work).

I am a member of a few small intentional communities, including Sandbox, Summit, F.ounders, IDEATE, and Burning Man.

New York is my home now (and I love it), but I grew up in St. Louis — and I thoroughly enjoy travel and exploring new places.

I love good design, absurdist humor, electronic music, bicycling adventures, Wes Anderson movies, and creating amazing experiences for people — online and offline.
