Hi! I'm Kid #7
I love to work with crafts and patterns to create and recreate new and exciting things. I started Dumb Kid Designs in March of 2007 when I found out people other than my family liked my little creations, too. I have been sewing, knitting, doodling, and beading longer than I can remember.
At this time, I am designing wallets, magnets, pocketbooks, and other accessories. My favorite materials to work with right now, are my sewing machine and paper. I can get lost in maps for hours, but I really love comic books too!
When I began to take my crafting business serious, I wanted a name that might catch on with those unfamiliar with my work. I wanted a name people might remember, a form of word-of-mouth advertising. So, Dumb Kid Designs was born!
The Story Behind Dumb Kid Designs:
When I began to take my crafting business serious, I wanted a name that might catch on with those unfamiliar with my work.
The dumb kids in Dumb Kid Designs, are my sisters and brothers – and me! I'm the 7th of 8 kids. A long time ago, my Grandpa used to call us "a bunch of dumb kids". He didn't say it to be mean, just in that "agghhhh frustrated moment" of looking at a small child. It was like, "What did you just say or do?" Or like the moment that a child surprises or puzzles an adult; not mean though. It became a joke amongst all 8 of us; even our Mom and Dad would laugh at times.
Since there are so many of us, I thought it would be a good base of "word of mouth advertising". – So, that's how Dumb Kid Designs, got it's name!
