Brion Applegate
Financial investment executive Brion Applegate has worked in the industry for more than 30 years. Over the last two decades, Mr. Applegate has served as the Senior Managing Director at Spectrum Equity, a private equity firm he co-founded in the early nineties. Representing $4.7 billion in private equity capital, the company invests in businesses ranging from the media and communications to the entertainment and business services markets throughout North America and Western Europe. Typically investing between $25 million and $100 million, the company works with growth stage companies led by experienced management teams that are well postioned for future growth. Several of Spectrum's primary investments include AMC Entertainment, Inc., the American Cellular Corporation, Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Apprise Media, Illuminet Holdings, Inc., Bug Music, Inc., CBD Media, H.O. Systems, Inc., and QTC Management, Inc. He is currently serving as a Director for AMC Entertainment, Inc.
Along with his work with Spectrum, Brion Applegate spent the years between 2002 and 2007 concurrently serving as the Director of Local Insight, an advertising company that worked with more than 340,000 clients in the United States and the Caribbean. He has also functioned as Director for the PriCellular Corporation, American Cellular Corporation, and H.O. Systems. Mr. Applegate's first professional position was with TA Associates, which he joined in 1979.
