Teacher, Student, and Writer
Hi loves, this is Miss Britney Cheldine Cloete a third year student studying in the field of education, to one day become not your standard educator but, an educator who sees the value and potential in each child, become a safe space for learners who may not have one and lastly to become and advocate for the rights of each child. Orignally, i come from an area stricken by poverty, substance abuse and gang violence however, i aim to create a life for myself and my fellow people that is not plagued with the false notion that each and every coloured child ‘becomes a product of their environment’, i believe that education is the one tool i can utilize to help change this false narrative about my people. Miss Cloete is passionate about the art of literature as she is an English major, believing that literature can allow one to flourish in their identity and perspectives. History is my second major and i as well hold the same notion that through learning about history can equip one develop in their identity, culture and to become the change we all hope for. Lastly, the saying that i live by as a teacher in training is “become the teacher who is the reason a child believes in their value and potential as an individual”.
