CURRENT PROJECTS

Hello! I’m a PR professional, freelance writer, and communications manager based in Edmonton, Alberta. I usually have my hands in a number of diverse projects.

My day job is managing the communications and marketing strategy for the Northern Alberta Business Incubator. I spend my evenings attending classes to complete my PR diploma from MacEwan University.

In my spare time, I write for Flurt Magazine, Division 1 Web Design, and Vitamin Daily, sit on the IABC Edmonton Board as the Administration Director, and teach social media to businesses and individuals. In my extra spare time, I volunteer for SACE and Roxy Theatre. I am also a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada.

I live in a house of two people (both vegetarians) and six animals. I think the best weekends are filled with hot coffee, long hikes, jazz piano, craft fairs, and pizza.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

While working towards my BA (English, Psychology) from the University of Alberta, I completed an internship with the Faculty of Arts, where I established and implemented the Faculty's first social media strategy. I also worked at CAPS: Your U of A Career Centre, redeveloping presentations and seminars.

After graduating, I became the first Community Manager for Yelp in Edmonton. I managed daily content for Yelp.ca, researched and wrote weekly newsletters sent to over 16,000 subscribers, and executed monthly events with local businesses, including securing sponsorships and freelance contracts.
