Brittany Renaud

My name is Brittany Renaud and I’m currently an undergrad at Western University for an Honors Specialization in Creative Writing and English literature as well as a Major in Comparative Literature and Culture. I grew up in Chatham, Ontario with my younger sister, Mother and Father, and our dog, Rocky the Boxer. I currently reside in London, Ontario.

I am a versatile writer, finding enjoyment writing essays as well as various forms of poetry and prose (examples of which can be found via the navigation bar above). Some of my inspirations as a writer include Margret Atwood, Angela Carter, Ami McKay, Lynn Coady, and Staceyann Chin.

I see myself as not only a writer, but a scholar and activist, believing stringing the pen being mightier than the sword. My aspirations as a writer is rooted in creating world of escapism and fantasy (as in “Dame Unflamed” and “All About Eve”), and discussing sexism and feminism in multiple contexts (such as the humorous, more approachable tone in the poem “{}.”or on the academic level in“Lacan, Illusion, and the Mannequin” or “Fear and Admiration for the Temptress”).
